What does it really mean to be connected to the church? In this message from our C3 series, Pastor Aaron Pennington teaches on the importance of serving and why following Jesus means following His example. In John 13, Jesus takes the position of a servant and washes His disciples’ feet, showing us that no one is above serving others. Serving isn’t simply about filling a need at church. It’s an expression of surrender, love, humility, and obedience to Jesus. When the Church serves one another in love, the world gets a clearer picture of who Jesus is. Pastor Aaron also challenges us to consider an important question: Is Jesus simply someone we listen to and learn from, or is He truly Lord of our lives? If He is Lord, two of the first steps of discipleship are clear: surrender and serve.
